In October 2011 I was delighted to be appointed full-time Teaching Fellow in Music at Bristol University.
During my ten years as a freelancer, I lectured part-time in music for a number of universities.
In 2008-09 and 2010-11 I taught courses at Bristol University, supervising both undergraduate and Masters students, lecturing in the history of Baroque music and directing the University Choral Society and the Schola: hugely enjoyable.
For the first six months of 2008 I was Stipendiary Lecturer in Music at Jesus and Lincoln colleges, Oxford. This meant co-ordinating the learning of all Music undergraduates at these two colleges. I taught courses ranging from the earliest polyphony to feminism, via Beethoven: challenging and stimulating!
In 2003-05 I was Lecturer in Music at Christ Church, Oxford, teaching diverse topics in the history of music - from plainchant and earliest polyphony to Monteverdi, Handel and Bach.
In several years I tutored in Music History for other colleges of Oxford University; I was also called in to Oxford Brookes Music Department when the undergraduates needed a touch of pre-1750 history..
